A Generosity Page for Your Faith-Based Business: Sharing What You Give Without Bragging

A lot of the faith-based business owners we work with give something away. A tithe on revenue. A scholarship spot each quarter. A standing gift to a local food pantry. And almost none of them mention it on their website.

Usually that silence comes from a good place. Nobody wants to be the person sounding a trumpet in the marketplace. But there is a difference between boasting about your giving and being honest about where a client's money goes.

Why clients want to know

People increasingly care what their purchases support. When someone chooses you over a cheaper option, part of what they are paying for is your values. Showing them how those values turn into real gifts is not self-promotion. It is transparency, the same kind you would expect from a nonprofit.

It also makes the client a quiet participant. "Your project helped fund three coaching scholarships this year" is a sentence most people are glad to read.

What a good generosity page includes

Keep it short. One page, linked from your footer or About page, is plenty.

  • What you give and why. One or two sentences on the conviction behind it. Plain words, not a sermon.
  • How it works. A percentage of revenue, one gift per sale, a pro bono client each season. Be specific enough that it is clearly real.
  • Where it goes. Name the organizations, with links. Local partners are especially meaningful to local clients.
  • A simple yearly update. "In 2026 we gave $4,200 to these three ministries." A number with a date earns more trust than any adjective.

What to leave out

Skip the photos of you handing over an oversized check. Skip the language that makes giving sound like a reason to buy now. And never claim a gift you have not actually made. If the yearly number is small, show the small number. Faithfulness in little things is still faithfulness.

A good season to start

With Giving Tuesday on December 1 and year-end giving on everyone's mind, the next few weeks are a natural time to put this page up. You do not need a campaign. A quiet page and an honest update in January is enough.

If you would like help adding a generosity page that fits the rest of your site, we would be glad to talk.
