Someone heard you on a podcast this week. Their team is scouting a keynote for the fall women's retreat, and they clicked over to your site at 9 p.m. on a Wednesday hoping to find one page that answers three questions so they can stop searching for the night.
Most faith-based author and coach sites do not give them that page. Speaking information gets scattered across an about page, a services list, and a contact form that assumes coaching, not events. So the invitation gets deferred, and often does not come at all.
A speaking page exists to make the ask easy for the person on the other end. It answers, in order: what you speak about, who you are the right fit for, and how to reach you. Anything beyond that is bonus material.
The topics section is where most pages lose the booker. Do not list every subject you could speak on. List three, framed as real talks with real titles, one or two sentences each. A program designer is not shopping for range. They are trying to confirm you fit the one gap on their weekend.
The fit section is short and generous. Name the kinds of events you show up well at — Sunday mornings, staff retreats, conferences under 500, ministry leader gatherings. Naming the fit protects both sides. It also tells a booker you have thought about the difference between preaching to a congregation and keynoting on a Friday night.
The booking section needs a real form, not a mailto link. Ask for the event date, the audience size, the location, the honorarium range, and one open field for context. Five fields is all a first message needs to be useful on both ends.
Below the fold, a small kit does the rest. A bio in three lengths (50, 100, 250 words), a square headshot and a landscape one, and a one-line topic list a program designer can lift straight into a printed booklet. When the page does that work without an email exchange, invitations find you while you sleep.
