We audited a Christian leadership coach's site this week whose traffic was up, whose testimonials were strong, and whose contact form had been submitted exactly three times in six weeks. The form itself was fine. The page around it was the problem.
Underneath the form fields there was a headshot, a nice pull quote, and a link back to the services page. What there was not — the thing almost no faith-based coach's site includes — was a short answer to the question a stranger is quietly asking with their finger hovering over the submit button.
What actually happens if I do this?
For most people, hitting a contact form on a coach's site is a small act of courage. They have already imagined the follow-up call, the awkward pricing conversation, and the pastoral guilt of not booking. If the page does not tell them what to expect, their imagination fills in the worst version and they close the tab.
Four lines fix it. Placed directly under the form, or in a small card alongside it, the section reads roughly like this:
After you send this, you will hear back from me within one business day — usually the same afternoon. I will suggest two times for a free 25-minute conversation. On that call we will talk through what you are working on and whether coaching is the right fit. There is no pitch at the end, and no follow-up sequence if it is not.
Nothing in that paragraph is complicated. It just names the timeline, the length, the cost, and — most importantly — what will not happen. In a season when every corner of the internet is chasing people down with retargeting, the promise of a soft off-ramp is the thing a discerning Christian client is scanning for.
We have watched this single section quietly double contact-page conversion for coaches we work with. It costs nothing. It requires no new automation. It is one paragraph on one page.
If your contact form has been quiet this fall and you are not sure why, this is a good place to start. We are glad to help you rewrite it, or the full path a new client walks from your homepage to your inbox. Reach out and tell us a little about your practice.
